Early Snow
It's been a few years since we had snow in early December, but this morning saw an inch or two. This caused the usual chaos to traffic as many drivers no longer seem to know how to drive in snow! In fact, many drivers stayed at home as shown by this photo, taken on the usually busy A635 Manchester Road in front of Mossley Railway Station at around 9.00 am today.

See Google Aerial View of this location without the snow.

That's a beautiful scene though isn't it. Really English view. But for the modern bits here and there, it could be a scene out of a Dickens novel.
ReplyDeleteHi there.. I've only just stumbled on your cdp blog but I love it :) Great shot... I was hoping we'd have snow here but so far it's just been sleet.

This picture shows the end of my street! I was one of the drivers who stayed home from work today and we went for a lovely walk up to Greenfield. My pictures from that are on my blog if you want to see more!!
ReplyDeleteI went to Ashton yesterday to check out the new market and the snow was just starting - headed back to Hyde sharpish to shop in Morrisons. We got the heavy stuff overnight.
ReplyDeleteA unique opportunity taken well.
ReplyDeleteA great picture

ReplyDeleteI don't think it was much worse, but there was a lot more snow in Mossley - and even in Hazelhurst - than there was in Ashton.
