Sky Watch: Morning Cloud
An early morning view of the Tame Valley looking from Mossley towards Saddleworth. The clouds are being lit by a sun that has not yet appeared above the hills. Most people were still in bed at that time, with no lights visble in any of the houses and no traffic moving on the main Manchester Road.
Sky Watch is the regular Friday feature on this photo blog. It will link with websites all over the world with the general theme each week of looking upwards. Please take the opportunity to visit some of these other sites. I hope some new visitors have found their way here today, watching the skies!

We see a lot of sunsets, and I love them, but the sunrises have the special charm of being something I almost missed (in my case, anyway). Usually I stay up too late and miss the dawn. Your photo makes me want to get up early tomorrow and see what the sky is doing!
ReplyDeleteFantastic shot, gorgeous colors. What a marvelous sight to start the day!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Beautiful, subtle melting of pink glows! A great morning sight to see!
ReplyDeleteThats a great capture... it is a great time of day to be out and about... I was on Hyde Market this afternoon.... I know who picked the best time to be out... and it was not me... :O)
ReplyDeleteGreat photo, my favorite time of day!
ReplyDeleteIt's no wonder that the birds sing in the early morning!
ReplyDeleteSimply glorious!
ReplyDeleteI am surprised by the lack of light pollution. Refreshing to be able to see such a glorious sunrise without street lighting.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful view
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colors and shot.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot to the wonderful skies...
ReplyDeleteabsolutely breathtaking..
happy skywatching.
Lots of luv,
Ita
Great photo. The sunsrise makes it look more like Spain than Ashton-under-Lyne. The chances of me getting up for sunrise at the moment are slim. Maybe in the winter. xx
ReplyDeleteNot sure that taking a photo from your bedroom window counts as getting up Martin, however still a great shot!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous photo, amazing contrast between the terraced row houses and the beauty beyond it. You just don't think of those intense colors when you think of England, do you.
ReplyDeleteIncredible image and a very beautiful sunrise. You have captured this scene perfectly. Thank you for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteCalvers - I was most certainly up and about and walking the streets when I took the photo! I have been finding it difficult to sleep during the recent hot weather!

Well, yes I do, actually. I have posted several photos here previously which show intense colours, such as this, this and this.
We don't see intensive colours all the time but there are certainly occasions when they are there!
A really beautiful image!
