Oldham Road

Looking southwards along Oldham Road towards the centre of Ashton. Christ Church is out of sight to the right of the photo. The tower of the Hop Pole pub is on the left, IKEA is on the right and the tower of the Central Library can be seen in the distance. On the left hand side of the road, alongside the parked cars, is a bus lane, reserved for buses during peak periods.

  1. Everybody who commented on the last picture, this is where you used to walk. I remember this view and remember walking down here but I am unable to recall just where I had been.

  2. its funny martin you should put this pic on ,as after i saw the one before it,it got me thinking about a family who had been given a council house on lees rd and gave it up to go and live on oldham rd ,there house was the first house after the bay window ones ,i used to spend my lunch time in there after my school meal with the brighams ,in fact from me being born in charlestown they were know as my mammy and daddy brigham to me ,so its lovely to see where they lived all those years back thanks for the happy memories ,,
