Box of Delights

What a pleasing sight! Just three miles to the west of Ashton town centre is this Victorian pillar box situated on the edge of the Fairfield Moravian Settlement in Droylsden.

I'll show photos of Fairfield settlement itself later on, but I thought you would like to see the colourful blooms surrounding this attractive post box before they wilt!

See Google Aerial View of this location.

  1. Yup, they're gorgeous blooms. This postbox is located near where the wells used to be decades (maybe a century) ago - I think they were on the green behind the box?

  2. Yes, the Victorian pillar boxes are super. We have a few here in Cheltenham. The terrace of houses behind don't look too good though. I do wish people would not paint red brick!!!
