Saturday in Saddleworth - Delph Village

This photo shows the road that winds through the middle of Delph village as it crosses the River Tame.

Fortunately the main A62 road between Oldham and Huddersfield bypasses the village, although the original turnpike road did in fact come through the village and over this bridge.

Since the photo was taken the road has been deliberately narrowed so that only one vehicle can cross the bridge at a time.

See Google Aerial View of this location.

  4. That's the 350 service shown in the photo - the 343 takes a rather more direct route between Mossley and Oldham!

  7. the picture caused a bit of a search Saturday.
Thought the sign on the left(Fish & Chips)was the place we used to go to regularly,The Galleon!
After a bit of googling(found Oldham bus routes!very interesting) found that place was in Uppermill.
Can't distinguish places now as the villiages are very much the same after 32 years away from the area.
