Stamford Park Flower Beds

(Click photo for larger version. Press Back button to return here.)

For this week's My World feature we pay another visit to the splendid flower beds in Stamford Park, on the border of Ashton and Stalybridge.

The colours have completely changed since I posted the photo of primroses in these beds in May. This photo was taken on Sunday during a history walk around the park as part of the Heritage weekend. I was amazed at how much colour these still is in the park half-way through September!

"Stamford Park Flower Beds" is my contribution to this week's "My World" feature. Please check out the other blogs participating in this week's My World.

See Birds Eye View of this location.

  1. The autumn colours are so lovely in this post.

  2. Wonderful autumn colors for an autumn garden. Thanks.

    Alberta, Canada

  3. The parks really are very pretty even though it's September.

  4. Such beautiful colors! Delightful photos for the day and a lovely look at your world! Enjoy your week!

  5. I gave it only for stars this time.
Lovely picture but to my saddo eye it needs a few degrees rotation to get a five (:-)

  6. Sorry not to meet your demanding standards on this occasion, Pete! The apparent tilt to the image is due to the flower beds being situated on a slope. The little ornamental tree is leaning, as well!

  7. In these times of austerity it,s good to see that tameside council can still bring some colour to our sometimes dull lives.

  8. That's a very pretty flowerbed !

  9. Sorry - Martin - rating still a four, the leaning tree in the background (prevailing winds perhaps?)
No - the non- horizontal bench around it is the giveaway.(:-)

It is a super picture do not take offence !

BTW - did we ever discover why the Air Ambulance was summoned ?

  10. Still picking tomato's off my 3 outside plants. Not for much longer ,alas

  11. No - the non- horizontal bench around it is the giveaway.(:-)
Not to be argumentative but benches are not normally levelled, just placed.
Give Martin the benefit of the doubt
