Coming up for Air

Another new sight in The Avenue this week is this coal miner who appears to have lost his way and has surfaced amid the shops. He joins the other figures who are heralding the re-opening of the Market Hall.

I wonder how long it will be before someone falls over him?

See Google Aerial View of this location.

  1. I didn't realize he was on the pavement until I finished reading your comment about someone stumbling on him. From the thumbnail view I thought it was a seated person leaning at a table. Now I see the sculpture is very oversize. Fun to see.

  3. He's not oversize, Kim - I crouched right down to pavement level to photograph him!
