Damp Day in Ashton

A view of Ashton's Market Hall after a short downpour of rain. The dampness on the ground is now sparkling after the sun emerges between the clouds.

Some people have commented that all the photos on the blog seem to show sunny days. Well, of course, the sunshine is normal for Sunny Ashton and the rainy days are few and far apart, oh yes....

"Damp Day in Ashton" is my contribution to this week's "My World" feature. Please check out the other blogs participating in this week's My World.

By the way... Sorry for the lack of pictures since Thursday but I have had a bit of a computer disaster, Luckily it was all backed up apart from the last few days, but I can't get to all the lovely autumn photos I took last week. I am hoping to be able to retrieve them from the hard drive soon but I might have to go out and take some more...

  1. You must get one of these
Very convenient because you don't have to lug around a power supply, since it draws power from the USB port.
    I highly recommend one.

  4. I've already got two high capacity external hard drives, Ashtonian. Trouble is - I sometimes turn the back-up software off if it slows the computer down too much while I am working on it! That's why the last few days was not backed up. I don't think there is any damage to my computer's hard drive but I need to get the right leads to be able to connect it to the laptop. I don't think the computer will ever work again, however...

  7. Just bought a LaCie 500 gig ext but it needs a remote power source.
I was wondering where you were Martin.
The problem with the leaves is the weather.I've taken a few on consecutive days and it's amazing the difference even taking the light in to consideration.
    There's always next year!!!
As for the computer problem,I'll hope you'll keep us up to date on progress.
Must be almost like loosing a loved one
