York House

York House Hotel was a feature of Richmond Street, Ashton, for many years. In recent years it has stood empty and boarded up. At one time it would have been an impressive and attractive building.

  1. Very sad to see York House like this - had a few good meals and more then one stays at this hotel in the late 70's - first real girlfriend and I spent our first night togeather here.... !!!!

Sad to see like this ;-(

  2. I too remember it as a quite trendy restaurant

  3. We had our wedding reception here in 1978 as it was quite close to Holy Trinity. Very sad to see the place in such a state!

  4. Can anyone tell me what actually happened to the hotel? I knew the proprietor years ago, and it was his pride & joy. Its terribly sad to see it in this condition.
