Monochrome Moment: Huddersfield Canal



As a bit of variety in the long sequence of snow photographs, I thought I would take advantage of the lack of colour to share a black and white image.

This photo shows the Huddersfield Narrow Canal at Micklehurst, with Wharf Cottages on the left and the canal lock behind the bridge.

According to the weather forecast, you'll be seeing snow photographs of the area around Ashton for a little while longer...

  1. looking by the weather link it's going to be around a lot longer.
    Nothing worse than being caught with your trousers down.As in snow removal.

  3. yeah poor ducks no food and no water hope some kind soul takes pity.here in Norfolk the geese have taken flight in search of food, gone west i believe

  6. A beautiful shot. Love the heavy looking snow on the branches defined by the variation in neutral shade colours. A pleasing view of the landscape.
