Our coalman John 'Jack' Hough lived on Diamond Street in the 1950s and 1960s. A few days after each coal delivery, my dad would give me the coal money and I would cycle to Jack's house to pay him - I think it was number 11. I might be wrong but I have a memory of Diamond Street being untarmaced in those days.
